Quilting By Design is running our first ever pillow case drive. Until September 2021 we are collecting pillow cases to be donated to the Wilmot Family Resource Center. We have a free pattern available for download here:
We also have kits available for purchase in store. Each kit is $12 and $3.60 from each kit will be collected and donated to the Wilmot Family Resource Center for the food bank.
We have been getting a lot of questions about some of the specific details, so here are the answers to some of our most asked questions.
Q: Do I have to buy a kit to make the pillow case? A: No you do not. You can use whatever fabrics you like, but we do encourage you to buy a kit as 30% of the proceeds from the kit gets donated as well.
Q: Can I donate a pillow case that I bought? A: Absolutely! All pillow cases are welcome.
Q: What is happening to the pillow cases once they are donated? A: That is up to the Wilmot Family Resource Center. They are a great organization and I am sure that whatever they choose to do with them, will be very worthwhile.
Q: What size pillow cases are you collecting? A: We are not asking for an exact size of pillow case, because most patterns are different, but right now we are collecting pillow cases for bed pillows.
